Inspiration of Film, #MaleToo

My name is Casey. I am the writer, director, and producer of the film, #MaleToo. The film is about Robert Porton, a model, along with the Law Firm, We Sue Law Offices, starts a sexual assault class action suit against workers in the modeling industry.

In 1999/2000, I watched a model documentary on E! Network. There was a section in the documentary of male models discussing being "accidentally touched" while working. The models admitted it was an every day occasion that models speak about amongst themselves. They felt it was better to accept it then to do anything about it. In 2020 YouTube suggested a video to me and it was a male model sharing his tory of being assaulted numerous times while working. In 2021, AmazonPrime suggested a film to me and it was a documentary of male models discussing their good and bad experiences as a model and how it is normal to ignore the assault as a male model. After the third time this problem was presented to me I asked Holy Spirit what was I to do. This film then came to my mind and even though I was hesitant in making the film I decided to do it anyways.

It's a 22 minute film that gets to the point and hopefully will be a help to someone, even if it is only one, in the modeling industry.

It is being submitted to film festivals. It will be available to watch online some time, probably next year (2023). For up to date updates subscribe to this blog. Every film festival that accepts this film I will post an update.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.
